Want To Fix Your IPhone 4 Reception Issues? Get An IPhone 4 Case Says Consumer Reports.
Friday, July 16th, 2010There have been posts in forums and blogs by the boatd load from iPhone 4 customers about the iPhone antenna and signal issues. The problems all talk about a loss in the signal and the bars that show the signal on the iPhone 4, whether you’re making a call or using the internet.
All that I’ve read, and all of the reports from owners seems to show that it has to do with the way you hold you iPhone. The iPhone 4 reception issue. As silly as it sounds, it’s absolutely true.I am constantly using my iPhone 4, and not just for 20 minutes a day – I use it for all of my daily communication. When the iPhone 4 is held a certain way (which in all honesty seems to be the proper way to hold it), there’s a complete loss of signal. The signal strength bars go from a full 4 or 5 bars right down to 1 single bar, and more often than I’d like to admit – a complete loss in signal, with only the word searching being displayed in the top left hand corner.
Apple has been extremely slow in even talking about or responding to this problem, stating just recently that a software update to iOS 4 will correct the problem of the signal bars showing incorrect signal quality. While it bugs me to no end to thing that this is the only reason for dropped calls in an excellent signal area on the iPhone 4, it is sadly the only thing Apple has said about the matter.
There is a quick fix out there for this issue, and it has to do with having an iPhone 4 case on your iPhone. With a case on your iPhone 4 you won’t experience any of the dropped calls or antenna issues no matter how you’re holding your phone. It is just another prime example that there is some truth to the rumors about bad designs or the wrong materials being used for the iPhone 4 itself. As a result of always getting a case for my gadgets, and the iPhone 4 case I bought was purchase the day I got my iPhone 4, I have had no issues with dropped calls or poor signal strength.it is a very expensive item, so spending just $10.00 – $20.00 on a cover or case that fully protects your phone just makes perfect sense in my opinion. I definitely don’t want to put dents or bumps on my iPhone 4, but I can’t help but be bothered by this issue that has gone away since I put the iPhone 4 in a case, because the issue shouldn’t be there to begin with.
Gizmodo states that Apple may in fact be doing some type of a silent or unannounced recall on the iPhone 4 with certain customers. Replacing their iPhone 4 with a replacement iPhone, and the issue does not seem to be present on most of these iPhone 4’s that customers are receiving. While rumors of this so called silent recall are runnning rampant on the internet, they are after all exactly that – just rumors. But some iphone 4 owners are noticing, and stating openly online, that the problem has gone away once they use their replacement units. While others continue to have a problem, unless of course, they put their iPhone 4 back in an iPhone case again.
